About COST
COST is the longest-running European framework established by the European Research Council in 1971.
It funds trans-national cooperation between researchers and tries to build a "bridge" towards the scientific communities of COST Inclusiveness Target Countries defined as those countries which are less research-intensive.
Additionally COST aims to include early career investigators and to maintain a gender balance.
The ultimate goal it to increase the mobility of researchers across Europe and fosters the establishment of scientific excellence, complementing the activities of the EU Framework Programmes.
